Three funded projects honoured06.03.2025Grimme Prize 2025The jury of the Grimme Prize 2025 has announced its award winners - among them are the MOIN-funded series "Festmachen" by Hilke Rönnfeldt and "Player of Ibiza" by the "Die Discounter" team Bruno Alexander, Oskar Belton and Emil Belton. The Documentary "Total Trust" by Jialing Zhang was also honoured.
Schleswig-Holstein Film Festival 202506.03.2025Film on the fjord! From 1 to 6 April, Filmfest Schleswig-Holstein will be presenting a diverse programme of regional productions - including ten MOIN-funded projects. Cineastes have the opportunity to see films before their official cinema release - such as the drama SIEBEN TAGE by Ali Ahadi Samadi and the children's film GRÜßE VOM MARS by Sarah Winkenstette.
North German star line-up at the Berlinale15.02.2025Hamburg Tea Time and two films in competitionOn Saturday, 15 February, the Hamburg Senate and MOIN Film Fund invited the Hamburg film industry to Tea Time at the Hamburg State Representation in Berlin as part of the Berlinale. Among the guests were the "Yunan" actors Hanna Schygulla, Sibel Kekilli and Tom Wlaschiha as well as cult director Fatih Akin. Also present: the "Die Discounter" team around Marc Hosemann and Merlin Sandmeyer as well as leading actor Hans Löw from the competition film "Mother's Baby".

Following İlker Çatak's nomination last year for "The Teachers' Lounge", this is the second time in a row that a Hamburg project has been nominated for the Oscars in Los Angeles.
Berlinale with Elphi and Schygulla21.01.2025Two MOIN films in competitionNo fewer than four North German productions will be shown in this year's 75th Berlinale programme - two of them even in the Competition: the drama "Yunan" by Hamburg Director Ameer Fakher Eldin with Hanna Schygulla, Sibel Kekilli and Tom Wlaschiha was shot on a Hallig in Schleswig-Holstein. The international co-production "Mother's Baby" by filmmaker Johanna Moder was shot in the Elbphilharmonie concert hall, among other locations.
Two North German productions in the competition17.01.2025Max Ophüls Preis 2025A total of five MOIN-funded films have made it into this year's programme of the 46th edition of the Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis, two of them into the competition: "Rote Sterne überm Feld" by Laura Laabs will have its world premiere in the feature film competition, "Inkubus" by Hamburg filmmaker and HMS graduate Reza Sam Mosadegh will be shown in the medium-length film competition.
