The MOIN Film Fund Committees have awarded almost 2.2 million euros to 38 projects in their current meetings. Among them: the newcomer project "Erinnerung an das Jetzt" produced by Tamtam Film from Hamburg and directed by Friedrich Tiedtke from Schleswig-Holstein, the documentary "Greenworld" by "Gunda" director Victor Kossakovsky and the new short film project "Amber Light" by Cannes winner Mohammad Rasoulof.
The drama Remembering the Now (377,247 euros, Tamtam Film, Hamburg) by Director Friedrich Tiedtke from Eckernförde is about Lea, a geriatric nurse who works on a dementia ward. When the much younger resident Hedda imperceptibly reminds her of her own mother, the boundaries between care and loss of self become blurred. Script Writer Manuel Ostwald from Hamburg wrote the script together with Friedrich Tiedtke, Ida Åkerstrøm Knudsen and Stefanie Reinsperger. The project is part of the "Nordlichter" talent programme from NDR, nordmedia and MOIN Film Fund.
Following his Berlinale film about the pet pig "Gunda", Victor Kossakovsky's new documentary Greenworld (130,000 euros, Doppelplusultra, Hamburg) is a cinematic exploration of the secret life of trees - and the dissonance between living organism and consumer product, especially at Christmas time. The film has eight shooting days in the funding region.
In her drama The Closed Book (200,000 euros, Tamtam Film, Hamburg), Danish Director and Script Writer Charlotte Sieling takes cinema audiences back to Copenhagen in 1880: young Frederikke is engaged to conservative theology student Christian when she meets progressive doctor Frederik Faber. Fascinated by his ideas about freedom and equality, she follows him into a modern, unconventional married life - and soon realises that freedom has its price. Joining us from Hamburg: Katrin Aschendorf for Costume Design, Stefanie Gredig is responsible for Hair & Make Up.
Also among the funded films: the short film project Amber Light (28,000 euros, Run Way Pictures, Hamburg) by Cannes winner Mohammad Rasoulof about an Iranian Script Writer in exile, the novel adaptation Superbusen by Paula Irmschler under the Directors of Constanze Klaue (100.000 euros, Wüste Film, Hamburg) and the animated adventure Stormy Island - Opus and the Wind (72,000 euros, Ulysses Filmproduktion, Hamburg) by "The Amazing Maurice" Director Florian Westermann from Hamburg.
