The Hamburg museum was founded as a museum of history of Hamburg in 1908. It presents a variation of the developing Hamburg history from the begging in 800 up to nowadays and is one of the biggest urban historically museums in Europe. 1914-22 has been the clinker building built by Fritz Schumacher. In 1989 has been the court yard furnished with a glass roof by the architects Gerkan, Marg and Partner. Additionally to the saved fragments of different houses of Hamburg, could also be a historic room set up integrated. For example the merchant’s hall creates an original impression of a branch office in the 1st century without any stage setting effort. This is one of the advantages of the Hamburg museum as a shooting location: It carries history where else it has to be created.

Handwerkskammer

The “Handwerkskammer” (Chamber of Crafts) was built between 1912 and 1915 by the architect, Fritz Schumacher. The halls and the restaurant have been preserved. There are seven different halls and rooms, big enough to host between 30 and 400 people. Two magnificent staircases are part of the interior. The staircase in the Guildhall creates a wonderful effect with its light well. The brick facade with sculptures combines the gable of a dwelling and motifs of shipping companies´ offices.
Brahms-Museum Hamburg

The Brahms museum is located in one of the last existing Barock-houses of the 18th century in the city centre of Hamburg. It presents everything that has to do with the musician Brahms. Opening times are: Tuesday to Sunday: 10-17pm. Around christmas and new years the museum is closed.
Planten un Blomen

In the heart of central Hamburg, Planten un Blomen park is linking inner city shopping streets with Hamburg convention and exhibition centres, Hamburg University and the bars and pubs of St. Pauli. Covering 450,000 sqm of reclaimed medieval fortifications, the park lives up to its name. Planten un Blomen is Low German and translates to 'Plants and Flowers'. The park offers manicured flower beds, herb gardens and vast lawns. One of the highlights of the park are the Japanese gardens. With their exotic plants and trees, intriguing rock formations, small ponds and a picturesque teahouse, these gardens are a true piece of art. There is hardly a quieter and more peaceful place in all of central Hamburg. The sunniest place in Planten un Blomen is fittingly modelled around a Mediterranean topic. Dark slate stores the heat emitted from sunlight and allows for fig and lemon trees, hibiscus and gunnera to grow in the cooler Hamburg climate. For more exotic plants and trees, the greenhouses are open year round. Enjoy biotopes resembling tropical rainforests, dry deserts and everything in between even with the park covered in snow and the lakes frozen over. And this is not the only attraction in wintertime Planten un Blomen: As soon as the temperatures drop, the ice-skating rink is drawing crowds. In Summer, go for a game of miniature golf or outdoor chess. Finally, when the sun sets over Hamburg, bring a picnic dinner, lie on the grass and watch the water features. The combination of illuminated fountains and classical music creates a one-of-a-kind experience. Be aware, you might end up soaking wet if you sit too close!

Large office building opposite the Laeiszhalle (music hall), former police department. Especially worth mentioning are the magnificent staircase, the circumferential balkonies and the roof terrace of approx. 40sqm.
