The University of applied sciences Hamburg comprises 13 departments and stands out because of its highly practical approach. Foyer and entrance halls, built in 1972, reflect the style of that time and are surely familiar thanks to events such as the regular flea markets. For film productions the department of natural sciences is especially interesting. On the second floor of the southern wing there are a number of laboratories with up-to-date equipment, five of the rooms are connected directly to each other by passagways. These labs feature a light, clean look and are, in contrast to those in other institutes, rather spacious.
