Classes, off to the cinema!
03.12.2019 | School Cinema Week in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein
Teachers take note: The School Cinema Weeks in Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein start again in November with numerous guests and exciting topics. If you and your class are not yet taking part, you should register NOW.
More than "just" cinema: the organisers of the School Cinema Weeks in Hamburg (18 to 22 November) and Schleswig-Holstein (25 to 29 November) have once again put together a packed cinema package that leaves nothing to be desired for the classroom and allows school classes to discover new stories and worlds. During the week, 69 films will be shown in Hamburg and 77 different productions are on the programme in Schleswig-Holstein. In addition to classics such as Hark Bohm's "Nordsee ist Mordsee", "Tschick" by Fatih Akin and "Good Bye, Lenin!" by Wolfgang Becker, children and young people can also look forward to current cinema fare: Christian Schwochow's literary adaptation "Deutschstunde" with Tobias Moretti and Ulrich Noethen will be shown, as will "Der Junge muss an die frische Luft" by Caroline Link and "The hate U Give" by George Tillman Jr. And the very little ones in primary school and even pre-school have also been considered: whether it's the animated film "Ritter Trenk op Platt" or the literary adaptation "Die kleine Hexe" - there's plenty to discover.

One of the highlights, however, are the numerous guests: the organisers have invited a wide range of guests, from scientists and educators to filmmakers, who will be available for a discussion round after the film.

The thematic focus of this year's cinema programme is "Science Year 2019 - Artificial Intelligence", "30 Years of the Fall of the Berlin Wall" and "17 Goals - ONE Future. The film programme on the Sustainable Development Goals"; in Hamburg, "Courage! Resistance - Overcoming Resistance" was another focus in Hamburg.
The entrance fee per pupil is €4.00. Teachers have free admission.
